Genesis Care Centre has used the donation towards some of its patient care expenses.
GENESIS Care Centre Manager, Sharon Jones, describes the step down palliative facility as ‘a place of hope’. Genesis provides medical, nursing, physical, psychosocial, rehabilitation and spiritual care for patients with HIV/Aids, TB, stroke victims, cancer and pressure sores. The patients are usually referrals from state hospitals.
“We face ongoing financial challenges in our daily operations and yet we strive to provide consistent quality care to those who need us,” says Mrs Jones. “We are very grateful for the continued support from companies like The Beekman Group.”
The Genesis Care Centre, which is the flagship project of the Genesis Trust, celebrated its 12th successful year in March this year. “We offer a holistic approach toward every patient admitted to our care and our goal is to help them rediscover the joy of living one day at a time.”
Beekman Group director, Cindy Allan says, “The Group believes in the importance of uplifting and supporting our local communities through various outreach projects. We enjoy working with and supporting the Genesis Trust because of its diverse range of projects that reach a multitude of communities in need.”
The Care Centre is situated in Marburg and has cared for almost 4 400 patients since it first opened its doors. To find out how you can help, contact Bev Nel on 0396857010 or email email@example.com.
